What are our core values? In a phrase, “Enriching Life and Property”
We believe that human life is infinitely valuable. As such it is of utmost importance to us how we treat our residents. We strive to treat our residents with dignity and respect and to treat them the way we would want to be treated. We find this results in higher retention rates, preventing costly turnover expenses, and that residents are more helpful, cooperative and take better care of our client’s properties. Like the old adage says, “you catch more bees with honey”.
It is undoubtedly in our client’s best interests to maintain their homes to a high degree so that we can command the highest rent rates, reduce vacancy time and have an overall more attractive product available. Besides all that, it says a LOT about how much we value the residents who will be renting the home. The most tangible thing we can do that demonstrates and bestows value and dignity on our residents is to properly maintain the home.
At the end of the day, we can’t fulfill our mission to enrich life and property if we don’t maintain the homes we manage to reasonable standards and treat the residents as more than just a means to an end. We recognize that terms like “slumlord” are widely used and understood because unfortunately, many landlords do not share our core values. Have you ever watched the old Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”? The antagonist, “Potter” embodies the typical slumlord who creates misery. Our core values align with the leading character, George Bailey. Landlords like that are the ones we hope to attract and work with. They recognize that wealth can be built while simultaneously enriching the lives of the residents and without bringing down the neighborhood.
